80/20.
The shape of concentration.
Five hundred threads begin with equal weight.
Four hundred arrive in the final fifth of the field.
A study of concentration, expressed through a Pareto model and the protected void of FIELD. The curve asks how a small part can hold most of a whole.
HOW THE WORK IS MADE
The ratio is a choice.
The result is reproducible.
Each strand represents the same amount of modelled wealth. Its endpoint is a population quantile. The selected Pareto parameter puts 80% of that modelled wealth in the highest 20% of the population.
The white strands reach the lower 80%; the copper strands reach the upper 20%. Overlapping lines and the central void shape the composition. The numerical claim concerns the endpoints, not the visible area of ink.
Inspect the model
This is a Pareto Type I theoretical population with α = ln(5) / ln(4) ≈ 1.160964 and β = 1 − 1/α. Its Lorenz curve is L(p) = 1 − (1 − p)β; the top fraction q holds qβ of total wealth.
The 80/20 relation is imposed by that parameter. It is not a measurement of real people, wallets or NFT holders. This parameter gives a finite theoretical mean and infinite theoretical variance. Neither is a market forecast.
There are 500 equally weighted strand midpoints. Applying the inverse Lorenz curve puts exactly 400 of them in the final 20% of the population axis. No exchange data or live prices enter the artwork.
